Xiaomi Laptop Tipped Again, Expected to Launch in Q1 2016

Xiaomi Laptop Tipped Again, Expected to Launch in Q1 2016

Xiaomi, the company which has earned a name for itself selling cheap-priced smartphones, tablets, and TVs among other gadgets, could soon launch a laptop. The Chinese technology conglomerate is working on a MacBook Air-like notebook, as per a new report. The company plans to launch the notebook in the first quarter of 2016, the report added.
Citing people familiar with Xiaomi's plan, Bloomberg reports that the company has been in talks with hardware manufacturers for the internal components of the notebook. Xiaomi is talking to Samsung, for instance, for the supply of memory chips. The new notebook is expected to sport a low-price tag, much like the vast majority of Xiaomi's products. No other information about the device is known as of yet.
This isn't the first time Xiaomi has been said to be working on a MacBook Air-like notebook. Last year purported images of Xiaomi's notebook leaked on the Web. The company had later noted that the images weren't genuine, refuting the rumour.
Founded in 2010, Xiaomi has quickly become one of the red-hot technology companies. Xiaomi, which insists it is a software company, has become more famous for selling durable smartphones in an incredibly cheap price range.
Over the past three years, Xiaomi has forayed into several new product categories including TVs, wearables, networking, and several home appliances. The company is also aggressively entering new markets. It entered India last year, and has since launched a number of products. It plans to start selling some of its products including Mi Band in the US and UK later this year

Twitter Rolling Out 'Who to Follow' Feature to Android and iOS Apps

Twitter has added a 'who to follow' feature on iOS that links you to other users that the social media giant thinks you would be interested in keeping in touch with.
It would use your history and uploaded contacts to make recommendations to follow the accounts, and it may also feature promoted accounts, Twitter detailed on its support page.
The new feature, which was announced on Friday, is placed right in the central timeline, but the section stays inline as you scroll.
Twitter noted that if it by chance recommends you follow someone who is dead, you may contact the company's support team.
But just like 'While you were away' feature, you can close the entire thing by tapping the 'X' symbol.
Twitter late last month appeared to have begun testing of new photo and video editing tools with limited users. The new photo and video editing tools were tipped by several celebrities, including Taylor Swift and Pharrell Williams, with their tweets during MTV's Video Music Awards.
Twitter's Lara Cohen, Director of Entertainment Talent, seemingly confirmed that some photo and video tools were being tested by these celebrities in a tweet where she said, "OMG @taylorswift13 with these new photo tools." So far, there is no word what are the exact tools that Twitter is currently testing but by looking at the shared images by celebrities, it looks like soon users will be able to add stickers, doodles, text, and more in images and videos before sharing them on Twitter.

Yu YuPix Compact Printer for Android, iOS Launched at Rs, 6,999

Micromax's Yu Televentures, after launching few smartphones and a fitness band under its 'Yu' brand, over the weekend launched a portable printer, the YuPix. The portable compact printer will be available to purchase from Amazon India starting Monday at Rs. 6,999.
The YuPix pocket sized printer, as per the firm, can print an image under 60 seconds and has an image transfer speed 10 times faster due to the inbuilt Wi-Fi and NFC connectivity. Compatible with both Android and iOS devices, the printer is said to feature a 'unique' cartridge which does not require a cleaning roll and has an integrated ink ribbon and photo paper. It can print up to 10 continuous copies. The device is also claimed to be water and fingerprint resistant.
The compact printer can print photos in 2.1x3.4-inch size with a printing resolution of 291 dpi. The device is said to use Dye Sublimation technology to print photos. Measuring 2.99x6.01x0.94 inch, the YuPix weighs 273 grams and is backed by a 750mAh battery. Android users can also download the YuPix app from Google Play to wirelessly sync their devices with the printer.
Although it is good to see the smartphone maker entering new markets other than smartphones and fitness bands, there are chances that YuPix might fail to gain some traction and see less demand as in this modern times most of the work is done using soft copies and documents. Also, a print out of 2.1x3.4 inch might hardly be used somewhere.

ZTE Axon Elite With Fingerprint Sensor Launched at IFA 2015

Amidst Sony, Samsung, Alcatel, and other announcements at IFA 2015, ZTE launched the global version of its Axon smartphone, the ZTE Axon Elite. The handset will reach France, Germany, Italy, Spain and the United Kingdom on September 24. Turkey, Mexico, Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand, Hong Kong, Russia and the Philippines would get the smartphone later. ZTE has priced that Axon Elite at EUR 419.99 (roughly Rs. 31,100).
The dual-SIM ZTE Axon Elite comes with similar specifications like seen in the original ZTE Axon (aka Axon Pro), which was launched in the US in July this year at $449.98 unlocked (roughly Rs. 28,500). The differences between the two models are that while the ZTE Axon has QHD (1440x2560 pixels) resolution display, the Axon Elite comes with lower full-HD (1080x1920 pixels) resolution display. However, the Axon Elite comes with biometric authentication methods such as fingerprint, voice and eye scanning sensors, which are not there in the ZTE Axon.
The Android 5.1.1 Lollipop-based ZTE Axon Elite features a 5.5-inch display, and is powered by a 64-bit octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 (quad-core 1.5GHz + quad-core 2GHz) processor clubbed with Adreno 430 GPU and 3GB of RAM.
The highlights of the metal-clad ZTE Axon Elite is its dual-lens (13-megapixel + 2-megapixel) rear camera with BSI CMOS sensor and dual-LED flash. The dual-lens camera lets users refocus an object after the image has been captured. The rear camera can also record videos in 4K resolution. The smartphone houses an 8-megapixel front-facing camera. It also bears 32GB of inbuilt storage and misses out on microSD card expansion. The connectivity features included in ZTE Axon Elite are 4G LTE, Bluetooth 4.0, GPS/ A-GPS, Wi-Fi, and USB. The smartphone is backed by a 3000mAh non-removable battery.
